The Olympian Goddesses Series

Demeter and Her Mysteries - In this workshop, we will discuss the "domain" of Demeter and her role in the lives of mortals both ancient and modern. Demeter is a chthonic deity with ties to the Earth and hence to the Underworld. Her mysteries were celebrated by both men and women, but for women she had specific rites. We will meet the Goddess in a guided visualization in order to establish a working relationship with Her. Participants will complete this workshop with a solid background of Demeter, her roles and responsibilities, and with a working knowledge of how to incorporate this Goddess into daily life.

Diana and Artemis: The Virgin and the Mother Aspects -- Artemis is widely known as the chaste or virgin Goddess of the moon and hunt. Diana has the same attributes and yet she is also known as the Mother. Are they indeed the same Goddess? We will discuss the origins and development of the Goddess's worship, the meaning of Her aspects in lives of men and women, and how to connect with this Goddess as modern Pagans today. We will meet the Goddess in a guided visualization in order to establish a working relationship with Her. Participants will complete this workshop with a working knowledge of this Goddess's origins and how to bring Her into daily life.

Juno: Jealous Wife or Empowered Woman and Loving Mother? - Juno is probably the most misunderstood of all the Olympians. She is most noted for Her jealousy and anger at Her husband's affairs. Her history points to a more powerful Goddess who, when absorbed into the pantheon of the conquering culture, was subdued in subsequent mythology. In this workshop we will discuss the power behind this Goddess and how modern women can become improved through working with Her. We will meet the Goddess in a guided visualization in order to establish a working relationship with Her. Participants will complete this workshop with a working knowledge of this Goddess's origins and how to bring Her into daily life.

Venus: Embracing Feminine Sexuality and Beauty Through the Goddess of Love and Sensuality - Venus is the Goddess of love and the embodiment of Beauty. By working with her we can bring the appreciation of the Beauty around us and within us back into focus, as we often bypass this in our busy daily lives. In this workshop we will discuss the history, domain, and gifts that this Goddess has to offer, including getting in touch with our own inner beauty. We will meet the Goddess in a guided visualization in order to establish a working relationship with Her. Participants will complete this workshop with a working knowledge of this Goddess's gifts and how to bring Her into daily life.

Minerva: Accessing Feminine Wisdom and Reason - Minerva has long been hailed as the embodiment of reason. She is an intellectual and skilled artisan. We will discuss the benefits of working with this wise Goddess, Her history, and the misconception of Her lack of femininity. We will meet the Goddess in a guided visualization in order to establish a working relationship with Her. Participants will complete this workshop with a better understanding of the diverse nature of this Goddess and how to bring Her into daily life.

Vesta: The Sacred Domicile - Bringing Sacredness into your Home - Vesta is an often overlooked Goddess in this day of electric or gas stoves in homes that lack a hearth (Her traditional place of worship). She was the eternal flame of Rome, of the family, and the home. We will cover the history of this incredible Goddess, Her attributes and worship, and how She can inspire us to bring sacredness back to the home and domestic duties. We will meet the Goddess in a guided visualization in order to establish a working relationship with Her. Participants will complete this workshop with a working knowledge of this Goddess's gifts and how to bring Her into daily life.
