What is the Clarian Tradition?

The Clarian Tradition has a foundation based on a Mediterranean temple tradition in Claros, Ionia (Ancient Greece) combined with an Italian family tradition. Most importantly, our Tradition has evolved into one that works in unity with the land we now call home. We honor the Ancient Gods of Italy and have a system of teaching that promotes the development of each student's individual talents, as the Order is the sum of all of its parts. Our teachings will aid the student in developing a sense of inner confidence and balance, a rapport with divinity, social responsibility, and harmonious living within the spiritual and physical world around us. The Clarian Tradition contains elements of Pythagoreanism, Orphicism, Stoic philosophy, and a generous portion of Stregheria from an old Italian line. Our tradition has three main degrees with three advanced degrees beyond 3rd.

We focus primarily on teaching neophytes how to reconnect their spiritual and physical bodies to all the planes of existence. Once that has been done, we teach the art of maintaining harmony within and without. When one is in harmony with the Universe, the Gods will provide. We teach and drill visualization skills, healing arts, personal growth, "shamanic" skills, prophecy, and communication with nature spirits (faeries). We are considered an Italian Fairy Tradition. Magic is only taught to initiates within the Clarian Tradition. If one chooses to go through all the elevations, one will not only become a mystic, but an actual oracle of the Gods.

What is the Religio Terranova?

Terranova literally means "New World." The Religio (or Religio Romana) was the ancient religion of the Roman people. It no longer exists today as it did thousands of years ago, yet many people are drawn to its ways and the ancient deities of the time. The Religio Terranova is the ancient Religio Romana and Stregheria transformed into something that is applicable to the modern day and a temperate (non-Mediterranean) climate. It is an umbrella term that encompasses all groups that practice a modern form of the Religio, including Stregheria.

Is the Clarian Tradition a Wiccan tradition?

No, we are not a Wiccan tradition. We are of Italian origin and have allowed for a perfect adaptation of an ancient tradition into modern day America. We honor an extensive Pantheon of Deities.  Though we teach ancient magical practices to our initiates, our teachings focus primarily on the development of rapport with Deity and nature spirits, with whom we work regularly.  We do not follow the Wiccan Rede. We do not call in the "watchers," nor do we cast circles, which are aspects indicative of Hermetic influence. Our rituals are rather simple and highly experiential, and our main focus is the development of a rapport with deity, not extensive ritualism.
